Slavia Airlines is the largest air company in Eastern Europe and one of the largest air groups in Europe. Our administrative headquarter is located in the Russian emperial city of Saint Petersburg.

History:

The company was founded on 25th February of the year 1975 by Frydyrik Koswoski Józekowski, a polish businessman in Warsaw, Poland.


1975: It was initially founded on the corporate name "Soviet-Polish Air Transport" (Russian: Советско-польская Воздушное Перевозки; in Polish: Radziecko-polskiego Transportu Lotniczego; in Ukrainian: Радянсько-польська Повітряне Перевезення) when it began operations on 01th August of 1975. The company had only 6 aircraft of Tupolev 154M and operated in the routes Leningrad-Warsaw, Leningrad-Lviv, Leningrad-Kiev and Moscow-Warsaw;


1982: Soviet-Polish Air Transport changed it's name to Slavia Airlines;


1991: With the possible demise of the Soviet Union, the company was temporarily unable to operate their routes for political reasons and tension between the Soviet Union and Poland with the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. The suspension took place from 14th July to the following year;

1992: After a few months without operating their routes, Slavia Airlines turned activities on 2th March and acquired heighten Tupolev TU-204SM and now operates the routes Leningrad-Vladivostok, Leningrad-Prague, Leningrad-Minsk, Leningrad-Kaliningrad and Leningrad-Novosibirsk;

1995: Was elected the airline with the best care and most comfortable aircraft in the world by a renowned aviation magazine, thus making the company's popularity grew up on a large scale and thus arose the need to purchase new aircraft. Slavia acquired 15 Boeing 767-800, 10 Boeing 767-900, 8 Boeing 757 and 22 Boeing 737, 25 Tupolev TU-204M. In addition to the route St. Petersburg-Warsaw, St. Petersburg-Kiev, St. Petersburg-Lviv, Moscow-Warsaw, St. Petersburg-Minsk, St. Petersburg-Vladivostok, St. Petersburg-Prague, St. Petersburg-Novosibirsk and started to operate routes to many countries in Europe and Asia as well as domestic destinations within Russia;

2000: Passed to operate international routes to America. These were Saint Petersburg-Rio de Janeiro, St. Petersburg-Chicago, Moscow-New York, Moscow-São Paulo, St. Petersburg-Bogotá, St. Petersburg-Buenos Aires and St. Petersburg-Toronto;

2008: Slavia bought DniproAir, Novy Gorizont Airlines, Rossiya Zapadnaya Airlines; significantly large airlines that were with bankrupt. All of them were extinguished and the fleets and routes were taken over by Slavia. That same year the new company's president, Giovani Ozekoski announced the company's renovation project would happen that year onwards;

2010: This year, the company renewed its fleet radically, replacing its older aircraft by Airbus A320 family aircraft (A319, A320 and A321), Airbus A330-200, Airbus A340-200 thus becoming the largest airline in Eastern Europe terms of fleet number and number of passengers. That same year founded its subsidiaries and changed livery again;

2012: Acquired 4 units of modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Slavia was the second airline in Europe to fly with this aeroplane;

2013: Acquired Slovak Airlines and CzechWings, changing those airlines brands to it's new subsidiaries in Slovakia and Czech Republic;

2015: Acquired AirMacedonia, Dmitrov Airways and founded it's Macedonian and Bulgarian subsidiaries;

2016: Yugoavia airline was bought by Slavia, changing it's brand to Slavia Airlines Serbia and creating it's Serbian subsidiary. This is a year of great changes in the company:

Brand restructuring: On 28th October of 2016 an event occurred at the company's headquarters in Saint Petersburg, Russia for the inauguration of the new brand. The company logo and visual identity of the aircraft have changed. The airline is renewing its fleet and is enhancing its excellence in air transport.

2019: Slavia acquired the company IstriaAir and created a new Croatian subsidiary. Also founded the Slovenian subsidiary to operate direct flights from capital city Ljubljana to all over Europe.
